Hi, I’m Eddie.

What is in this for me?

Why am I writing? Simple.

I want a unified space to write freely.

I have a voice and things to share. I would love to find my community here. Talk unfiltered about the things I am passionate about.

Honestly, my wish is NOT to go viral. (history shows humans do not handle glory well, I’m probably no exception) I dream that my work and writings to be discovered by my son when he is around 23 years old and forming his life’s objectives.

At the time of this writing, my son is 10 years and I have every intention of being around 13 years from now. However, I believe he will find value in growing with the today version of me. Because even now, I am struggling to put together my own life’s objectives.

What is in this for you?

I have been a practicing mental health counseling for well over a decade. If there is anythign I've learned is that we, modern humans, are not well versed in facing the darkest parts of our story. We avoid discomfort. Our brain and body is built to survival. Society's norm is to be comfortable at any cost. The end result? We don't learn how to deal with our monsters.

There is however, a fundamental need to grow in the darkness, otherwise we will always be a slave to the things we are afraid of and ignore.

You should follow this newsletter because this work will put you back into the driver seat. It will allow you to feel in control of your trajectory and life.

Here is the flow for this newsletter:

Moment- I will be sharing a page from my own life or from the average person that is walking through a specific difficult moment. Expect me to reach for words that purposefully trigger you so that you can closely align with the pain and frustration in that given moment.
Monster- I will be sharing the core "monster" or issue behind the moment. I will work to quickly identify what the primary motivation behind in the moment above.
Dance- I will share some practical solutions to allow you to "dance" with your o3n monsters.

Who are the monsters?

Monsters represent the many challenging things that frustrate your efforts. These are the social issues you fight, the grind of daily stressors or the inconveniences that makes life inhospitable.

Examples of monsters we will address:

Internal

  • procrastination

  • overwhelm

  • imposture syndrome

  • limiting beliefs

  • cognitive distortions

External

  • relationship challenges

  • social tensions

Contextual

  • health challenges

  • economic challenges

Why are we dancing?

An uncomfortable truth: There is a story behind your monsters. And it is hard to hold this truth because it is never a simple cause and effect story. Our mosters exist because of complex ebbs and flows of valid and invalid reasons, because of self preservation and self abandon. Your monsters are not wrapped into simple to understand essays, they are complex like songs with stanzas, chords, rhythms and pauses. You dance with monsters. You do not mute them. If you can learn the steps the dance will make you mature and fulfilled.

If you are in for it, welcome to the Dancing with Monsters Community!
